This week we spent 3 nights at the Malfroy Motel. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. They provided lots of tips about where to go and what to do. Quiet location and handy to town. The room was very cosy and warm. Comfy beds, nice towels and linen. The children enjoyed the hot pool to relax in each afternoon after a big day out.

I was travelling alone to Rotorua, and booked this motel in advance online. When I got there, Ron upgraded my room for free and elaborated every part of the room in person. The multi-functional bath was amazing. Before went to bed, I could enjoy the mineral pool at the back yard that really relexed me after all day's trip. Ron also introduced me a lot of ways to have fun in Rotorua. The place is walking distance to Mall, the lake, and the famous spas. By the end of the staying, he drove me to my next stop and told me a very inspiring story on the way which gave me a lot of courage to face my real life, yeah, considering the reason I went to Rotorua was to cure myself spiritually. I was grateful to find this motor lodge to stay. I have to say Rotorua is really a ''cure'' city because of the good heart of people who contribute their life there. I would definately go back to Malfroy Motot Lodge next time. - Sophia

“Excellent motel for the family”

Our family of 5 stayed comfortably in the 2 bedroom apartment in late June 2014. The weather was chilli but the room was very warm, cosy and quiet and had great kitchen and living facilities. Everything we could have needed was provided and the extremely friendly owners went out of their way to make sure we were sorted and settled. The room was very clean and having it serviced each day was a real bonus. The sulphur and fresh water pools were a huge hit with all of us, both first thing in the morning and after a busy day out sight seeing. Our kids were so taken with Ron, and especially the treasure hunt he organised around the gorgeous art pieces dotted throughout the motel grounds. If a relaxed easygoing stay is what you are after then I would highly recommend the Malfroy motor lodge. I know we will be going back!

Last month I travelled with my family in Rotorua and booked Malfroy Motor Lodge as a two-night-stay place. It's awesome and left us a good impression. Ron is so kind and recommend us a lot of place to go and also the mineral pool is fantastic. Really like this place and recommend to everyone who is seeking for a nice place to stay in Rotorua.

We were delighted to discover this older but well maintained motor lodge in the Rotorua area. Only a 10 minute walk from central downtown. It has spacious rooms with excellent kitchen facilities and room to sit down with friends. Lovely gardens with abundant art work. Lodge has its own small fresh water pool and a mineral bath which can accommodate about 4 people; both use geothermal heating. Unless you require fine spa massage and coddling, the Malfroy provides all the advantages of upscale hotel/spa at a fraction of the cost. The proprietors are extremely knowledgable and friendly and can arrange for any tours or visits to nearby attractions. Even though it is next to a major road and roundabout, we found it to be quiet and pleasant. In summary - great stay, quiet, good location, older charm and excellent service. -Gallagher and Rogers

The rooms are clean and the thermal pools are a great place to sooth tired or cold muscles after all the exciting activities in Rotorua. The friendly owners are very knowledgeable about the area and fun things to do.
My only issue is with the bed. I prefer a soft bed which this room didn't have. But I think this is a personal preference. Otherwise I love this place.

MALFROY motor lodge is conveniently located for all of the major attractions and geo-thermal valleys.  We are only a 3 minute walk from Rotorua's largest shopping mall, which is next to the City Centre where you will find a good choice of general stores, boutique clothing and souvenir shops, good coffee places - and a range of quality restaurants and lively bars - on Tutanekai Street.  Another 5 minutes from there and you are down at the lakeside.
