MALFROY motor lodge Rotorua NZ accommodation is very well located for a family or a group wanting to make the most of their visit to Rotorua and the central part of the North Island; Central Park. Taupo, Tauranga, Hamilton, Hobbiton, and Whangarei are all within a 90 minute drive - making MALFROY Rotorua an ideal base for Tourists.

Our larger apartments are well set up providing a full kitchen with a free standing oven, extractor fan, microwave, fridge with small freezer, pots, pans, bowls, kitchen equipment, and cutlery, crockery and glassware for 6 people. They are great in the cooler months too, as they are all centrally heated by our own geo-thermal bore – which is working 7 x 24 x 365 to bring hot water up from 165 metres down.

Our 2 Bedroom Apartments are set around our courtyard area, which in summer is quite a sun trap. All apartments have outside table and chairs, and in the evenings the parents can sit, relax and get to know each other – over a glass of something cold shaded by our fantastic Indian Bean Tree.

For families of younger children, we also have a secure play area over by the office that comes with a climbing tower, fireman’s pole, slide, swings, and a play house. Young at heart adults can also have a swing if they wish.

Our genuine Geo-thermal Mineral Pool is kept at 41 degrees all year around, and most find it very therapeutic for aching joints, weary backs, knee / hip replacements, rheumatism, arthritis etc. It is excellent for a soak after a day walking around Rotorua or the geo-thermal valleys and geysers – and can help you to have the best night’s sleep for a while. Even as long ago as the 1800’s people came from all over the world to experience the wonderful ‘Healing Waters’ of Rotorua.

Our Plunge Pool is kept at 32 degrees in summer and 38 degrees in the winter – when people sit there in the rain with smiles on their faces! It is a great meeting place for our guests from around the world, and is also a great pool for teaching the younger children how to swim. In our Gazebo we have a large, modern, 6 burner gas barbecue, and we provide the tools too. Once the garden lights are on you can turn the Gazebo light on, allowing delicious evening meals to be cooked here.
