This is our third stay at Malfroy. Each time we stay we notice little improvements. It was nice that my husband had a secure place to put his mountain when it was not in use. The pool was great after a day of walking and even our young son enjoyed it. We enjoyed the spa bath in our room once we got the hang of it. We'll be back again.

We stayed in the cottage which was ideal as we were travelling as two couples. Ron and Maire were incredibly helpful and gave us many tips on how to manage our visits to various attractions. The entire motel we very clean and the motel was centrally located. The mineral pool was excellent as was the pool. We also used the BBQ areas and had a very relaxed stay. Highly recommend this motel.

We (Myself, my wife and son) stayed in the 2 bedroomed apartment for four nights recently.

The cleanliness of the rooms and grounds could not be faulted and neither could Ron's hosting skills.

Motel is close to centre of town ( a 5 - 10 minute walk to the mall), so shopping and restaurants are all close.

Have seen comments re road noise, yes is close to an intersection but traffic did not disturb us in the least at any time.

Pool and spa are great.

Room Tip: I'm a bit of an insomniac so it was great to have a separate lounge so as not to disturb my wife...

A couple of nights stay at this very good and reasonable motel, while visiting the local area. Room clean and comfortable. Mineral spa great with dip in small pool afterwards. Close drive to centre of town. Ron the owner very helpful.

We picked this motel because it had its own mineral pool. It's much more convenient, and much cheaper to have a soak next to your room, rather than pay for the Polynesian Spa. The motel itself is old, but freshly painted, clean and comfortable. Ron, the manager, is very helpful and friendly. Parking a large car next to your room is a minor challenge as the spaces are small. However, it's an easy walk to the supermarkets and about 15min on foot to the start of the restaurant area.

Had a great time staying at Malfroy for 3 nights. The unit was immaculate, very comfortable beds and pillows.Ron and Mairi were amazing hosts- took a genuine interest in our time in Rotorua, making sure we had many choices and suggestions of things to do. I wanted a recommendation of a hairdresser and Mairi even booked the appointment for me.Best service ever.
